The 2023 gingerbread display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is now officially open. See all the details and available treats below.
2023 Gingerbread Display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
The house is located on the first floor of the resort lobby, directly across from the main entrance.
As always, it resembles a Victorian-style house.
The gingerbread shingles and other edible pieces are stuck to a frame using icing.
Of course, while almost everything on the house is edible, you shouldn’t try to eat it. But gingerbread shingles and other treats are available for purchase from the house.
The house is dusted with white sugar to make it look like snow has fallen on the roof.
It’s trimmed with sugar poinsettias and silver garland.
There’s a large 85-lb Santa figure made out of chocolate.
There are also small Christmas village houses, nutcrackers, and trees covered in string lights.
The shop’s menu is posted at multiple points around the house.
The shop is at the back of the house, with red rope creating the queue.
The TV screen mounted on the back of the house displays the menu and photos of the available items.
A sign lists the ingredients used to construct the house including 1,050 lbs of honey, 600 lbs of powdered sugar, and 700 lbs of chocolate.
There are 24 hidden Mickeys on the house, honoring 24 years of the display.
According to Cast Members, while the house is open for business, decorating is not quite complete yet.
For example, the white bar above the shop window is for a metal sign plaque that has not yet arrived.
Above the windows of the gingerbread house are murals of classic Disney characters in wintry scenes.
Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger are pictured having fun in the snow.
The window shutters are decorated with tiny silver Mickey wreaths.
Above another window is an image of Rapunzel.
Snow White is wearing all red in this mural.
Of course, Mickey and Minnie are featured, wearing their red Santa outfits.
Tiana is ringing a golden bell and wearing a red cape.
And Ariel is dressed all in green.
This framed QR code, held up by a bee, leads guests to the following TikTok video about what happens to the gingerbread house after the holiday season.
The video was posted last year, so shows the gingerbread house decked out with 50th anniversary decorations.
