The first day of spring is around the corner, and, in celebration, Magic Kingdom has a new spring popcorn mix. Here’s our review.
Spring Popcorn Mix – $15.99
Caramel popcorn with M&M’s milk chocolate candies, crushed vanilla cookies, mini marshmallows, and white and yellow chocolaty drizzle.
Found at Main Street Confectionary in Magic Kingdom, the limited-time-offering spring popcorn mix is, you guessed it, themed for spring time. The M&M’s are pastel blue, pink, and green, and the chocolate drizzle is yellow. It certainly has an Easter feel to it, looks wise.
Now onto the taste. We found this to be a fairly tame popcorn mix compared to other options you can get at the Confectionary. It’s not dull by any means, but there are no out-there flavors in this mix. Though not as fresh as what you can find at Karamell-Küche over in the Germany Pavilion in EPCOT, the caramel popcorn here was fresh, with the right amount of crunch.
All of the flavors pair well together, and we enjoyed how the white chocolate drizzle helped to “glue” the elements together by making small bunches. By far, the standout of the mix for us was the crushed vanilla cookie. The extra vanilla flavor made the popcorn feel more like a dessert, which we really enjoyed, and the texture made it different from other mixes we’ve tried.
Overall, we’d say this mix is a fun and tasty way to get into the spring spirit, though we wouldn’t recommend going out of your way for it. If you’re in the Confectionary, we’d suggest creating your own personalized mix over getting this one, unless you really love all of the elements in the spring popcorn mix. If you’re not a fan of coated popcorn or white chocolate, this is definitely a skip. We give it a 4 out of 7.
