The Disney Treasure has officially been set afloat, marking another milestone ahead of its debut this winter with Disney Cruise Line.
Disney Treasure Set Afloat
The Disney Treasure, the next ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet to debut, was officially set afloat a few weeks ago, according to an Instagram post from Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line.
The Treasure hit the water at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany when water from the Ems River was added into the building dock, where the Treasure has been undergoing construction. Once afloat, the Treasure was moved to a new location to continue its construction.
The Disney Treasure will set sail on its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024. The adventure-themed ship will feature an anthem by Jordin Sparks, a Haunted Mansion Parlor, a Jungle Cruise-inspired lounge, and more. The bow of the ship features Captain Minnie in her voyager gear. We’ve rounded up everything coming to the Disney Treasure.
The Disney Treasure was moved to make way for the Disney Destiny, the Treasure’s sister ship that is set to be delivered in 2025. The Disney Destiny will be themed to Heroes and Villains, with Hero Minnie at the bow. the ship will feature references to Disney films including “The Lion King,” “Hercules,” and “One Hundred and One Dalmatians.” Disney notes that soon the Disney Destiny and the Disney Treasure will be placed next to each other in the shipyard in another milestone moment.
