Scaffolding and tarps have been erected around the “maintenance bay” of Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, signaling that the attraction’s rumored conversion back to Space Mountain at Disneyland Paris is drawing near.
Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain Construction
X user DLPWorks has shared photographs of scaffolding and white tarps that now surround part of the exterior of Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain. The area under construction is expected to be a “maintenance bay” which will be integral to construction workers as they convert the attraction back to Space Mountain.
The teal walls in front of the new construction materials first appeared at the end of May. In the last update, the dirt-filled area behind the walls featured much more plant life than now.
Internet rumors have suggested for months that Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain will convert back to Space Mountain for the attraction’s 30th anniversary. The overlay, which temporarily appears annually at Disneyland Park in honor of “Star Wars” Season of the Force, has been a permanent fixture at Disneyland Paris since 2017.
A closure or conversion for the ride has not yet been announced.
