The name and details have been released for the Disney Experiences Showcase at this year’s D23 Ultimate Fan Event. The showcase, while colloquially known as the Disney Parks panel, includes other experiences such as the Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney.
Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase
This year’s panel is called Horizons, likely in reference to the retired EPCOT pavilion but also likely as a metaphor. Last year’s panel was titled “A Boundless Future,” and the panel names are not necessarily indicative of the upcoming announcements.
Disney’s description of the panel reads:
Join us on Saturday, August 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Honda Center for an immersive celebration of Disney Experiences around the world. Accompanied by a special lineup of musical numbers, surprise appearances, and a few familiar faces, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro will host this exciting showcase, woven together by the theme of music. Throughout the show, fans can expect updates on new and highly anticipated projects across Disney Experiences, along with new ways for generations of fans to connect with their favorite Disney stories.
D’Amaro recently promised that guests will hear about “more than the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom” at D23, suggesting that announcements for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT are possible. As for the other two parks, many are awaiting details for the Beyond Big Thunder project at Magic Kingdom and the Tropical Americas project at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
With DisneylandForward and the promised “Avatar” experience, new ships coming to the Disney Cruise Line, and a host of expansions overseas, there are many possible announcements in store for the panel. Plus, the description teases “new” projects.

Anyone hoping its finally an announcement for the reopening of horizons! I know josh is a fan and signed the now millions of people whom want horizons back including many wdi folks many whom have created different new versions of horizons to bring it back. I know its too much to hope for sadly it was ahead of its time in many things and the old tech could have just gotten moderization and done but no now we have the death trap!
