In a new article from The Wall Street Journal, Universal reportedly expects Epic Universe to be fully opened as early as Memorial Day Weekend 2025.
Epic Universe Opening Timeline Reportedly Revealed
According to the WSJ, their sources familiar with the matter have said that Universal expects Epic Universe to be open by Memorial Day Weekend next year, which is May 24-26, 2025. This is reportedly “earlier than expected.”
Universal has previously said that the park would open sometime in “summer 2025” before changing their wording to just “2025.” However, no set opening date has been confirmed.
Universal said it hasn’t yet confirmed an opening date. The timing of the planned opening could change.

According to the report, in the early stages of Epic Universe being open, Universal plans to require guests to purchase multi-day passes in order to enter the park. Those passes would include admission to the resort’s other theme parks, with guests only able to spend one day at Epic Universe. This is reportedly because “demand is anticipated to be high and the company wants to avoid overcrowding.”
In addition, the article claims that tickets to the new theme park could go on sale as soon as this month.
Epic Universe will include five immersive lands: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. There will also be an in-park hotel, the Universal Helios Grand Hotel.
Guests eager to see the park in miniature form or purchase merchandise ahead of time can check out the Epic Universe Preview Center, currently open at Universal CityWalk Orlando. Watch our walk-through video:
