With his re-election as President of the U.S., the Donald Trump Audio-Animatronic will likely get moved back to the center stage of The Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom, should Disney keep to tradition.

The Hall of Presidents features Audio-Animatronics representing every one of the nation’s 45 presidents. Since its opening with Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971, the attraction has periodically received new animatronics as new presidents take office. Each president since Bill Clinton has provided their voice to the show.

President Trump previously recorded the oath of office and a speech for The Hall of Presidents when he was elected in 2016. Trump is only the second president to be elected for two non-consecutive terms and the first since the opening of The Hall of Presidents, so we don’t know if Disney will reuse his prior recording or request a new one, or maybe will remove the speaking role of the active president altogether.

Either way, the Trump animatronic will likely be moved back to the middle of The Hall of Presidents stage, while the Joe Biden animatronic will be moved out of the central position. The attraction will probably close in January 2025 for the update. The changes should take considerably less time than Trump’s initial addition to the show, which took 11 months.

This will be the first time a figure has been placed back in the center after being moved away.

That said, there are always rumors that The Hall of Presidents may close permanently given tensions over politics in the United States. Disney has not announced a permanent closure or even suggested that at this point.

  1. I truly hope that Disney sees the Hall as representative of leaders of different parties together in one place, each having faced challenges in his own time. I’d like to believe we can appreciate the fact that the Union still stands despite our differences of opinion.
