VIDEO: Disney Releases Countdown to Disney Skyliner Preview

Last year, Disney announced the Disney Skyliner, a new way to move guests across Walt Disney World Resort with a bird’s-eye view. As you probably know by now, this new gondola system will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resort hotels- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort as well as the proposed 15th Disney Vacation Club property, Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Disney today released a video previewing the system as they prepare guests for impacts caused by continuing construction of the Skyliner:

To bring Disney Skyliner to life, teams are making progress on this innovative system. Support towers have been popping up across Walt Disney World Resort (as we’ve shown you for months now) and will soon be connected with a series of reinforced cables to carry guests in themed gondolas. Disney is warning that guests will see work underway over the next several months as teams install the miles of cable between towers.

  1. My guess is no because of liability issues but is some of the glass in the cabin removable for hotter months of the season…would be like riding the old Skyway at MK.

I really don’t understand this no AC decision. What happens if the system breaks down…just going to let people melt in the cab of these things? Come on Disney step up to the plate this is crazy!

    • The individual gondolas are equipped with a ventilation system similar to the monorail. In theory by design, it will be equivalent
