Saga-inspired drops – including the coveted Black Kyber Crystal – are landing this Life Day (November 17 for those new to a galaxy far far away).
The post image features a black wooden box with a latch and red accents on the right side and blue accents on the left. It resembles the box for the limited edition Asajj Ventress lightsaber hilt set that was released earlier this year. Inside the box seems to be multiple Kyber Crystal capsules, which are sold individually at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and can be used to change the sound and colors in Holocrons and lightsabers made at Savi’s Workshop. Included in the box seems to be the following crystal colors:
- 2 Green
- 2 Blue
- 2 Yellow
- 2 Purple
- 4 Red
- 2 White
- 1 Black
The black Kyber Crystal is typically a “chase” variant that can sometimes be found in red Kyber Crystal capsules. When placed in a lightsaber, it turns the blade red. When placed in a Jedi or Sith Holocron, it triggers voice lines from Supreme Leader Snoke.
During the first wave of Kyber Crystals released with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, black crystals could be spotted by shining a light through the capsule. When the second wave of crystals was released, light could no longer pass through the capsule to see what was inside. Each crystal has a variety of voice lines depending on the color and shape, triggering voices such as Yoda, Darth Vader, Ahsoka, and more.
The post indicates that more merch is to come for this upcoming Life Day release. Stay tuned to WDWNT for the latest on this merchandise drop!
