Despite Impending MuppetVision Closure, Disney Vacation Club Releases Holiday Message from The Muppets

Despite the looming closure of MuppetVision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Vacation Club has released a special holiday message from The Muppets to commemorate the season.

DVC Releases Holiday Message from The Muppets

In the video, Fozzie Bear appears to share holiday wishes to DVC members, along with a few jokes:

Hiya, hiya, hiya, Fozzie Bear here, wishing all our friends at DVC a very safe and happy holiday season, and a hilarious start to 2025! Hey! Which reminds me, have I told you about the dizz reindeer with the lightbulb in his nose? Yeah, it made him light-headed. Ah, get it? Light-headed?

Ahaha, oh! Or how about this one? Why did no one let the snowman plan the New Year’s Eve party? Because he always drops the ball at midnight! Ah, wocka wocka wocka!

Anyway, happy holidays, DVC, from all of us at The Muppets.

WDW DHS Updated Monstropolis Concept Art

On November 22, Walt Disney World revealed, after much speculation, that MuppetVision 3D would indeed close to make way for a new Monsters Inc. land first announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August 2024. Taking over the MuppetVision footprint will be a new, yet unannounced theater show.

Disney has previously stated that the company is “exploring ways to preserve” the MuppetVision film “and other parts of the experience” for guests to enjoy in the future, though has not specified what these ways might be. The Jim Henson Company released a statement on the attraction’s closing shortly afterward, commenting on its “next act.”

It must be mentioned that despite the upcoming closure, the show is of historical significance, as it is the last project that Henson worked on before his passing. The show originally opened on May 16, 1991. Some fans online have called for the attraction to be registered as a National Heritage Site in the past.

A closing date for MuppetVision 3D has not been confirmed, though The Muppets will eventually move to Sunset Boulevard for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, taking over for Aerosmith.
