The opening day stage show, “Golden Fairytale Fanfare,” has reportedly closed at Shanghai Disneyland, after operating for nearly nine years.
‘Golden Fairytale Fanfare’ Removed from Shanghai Disney Resort Website, Reportedly Closed

The show’s official pages have been removed from the Shanghai Disney Resort app and website, with the latter leading to a broken page stating that “We’re Working on It. This page is temporarily unavailable. Rest assured, we’ll fix the issue soon, so please try again later.”
Several accounts on social media, including Cast Members in the show, have also shared news of the show’s closure. No official closure or replacement offering has been announced.
“Golden Fairytale Fanfare” is a stage show that debuted with Shanghai Disney Resort’s opening on June 16, 2016 at Enchanted Storybook Castle. The show featured appearances from Disney Princesses like Snow White, Jasmine, Ariel, Merida, and Anna and Elsa, alongside Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Each character’s costume has some golden element to it, while retaining their recognizable look.
Songs featured in the show included “Heigh Ho” and “Some Day My Prince Will Come” from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Let It Go” and “For the First Time in Forever” from “Frozen,” “Prince Ali” and “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin,” “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid,” and “Touch the Sky” from “Brave.”
The show was directed by Chinese stage director and filmmaker Chen Shi Zheng with an original song, “Welcome Home,” written in Mandarin by Keith Chan and Peter Kam.
