New Disneyland Collectible Medallions Debut for 70th Anniversary

The new Disneyland 70th Celebration collectible medallions have arrived at the park as a part of the anniversary festivities.

We found the first set of new medallions at the Tomorrowland machine near the exit of Space Mountain. The banner at the top of the machine has already been decorated with yellow Disneyland 70th art. The banner includes the full Disneyland 70 wordmark and illustrations of the Millennium Falcon, Dumbo, Space Mountain, and the Matterhorn.

This machine has a total of four designs, all of which are now updated with the 70th anniversary logos. The coins are visible through the glass on the front of the machine.

There are buttons with each of the new designs near the payment slot. The pricing for the new medallions is standard for the other machines. You can buy a single medallion for $6 or a set of all four for $20.

The first collectible medallion has an image of Darth Vader swinging his lightsaber. The icon on his left has the “70” logo with the castle turrets as well as the full Disneyland Resort wordmark.

Representing Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, this medallion has the skyline of Black Spire Outpost and the usual Disneyland 70 logo.

The final design at this machine shows Mickey wearing an astronaut suit while floating in space. As with the others, the 70 logo with the castle turrets is included on the front.

The backside of all four coins is identical and has a much bigger version of the same Disneyland “70” logo surrounded by a border of stars.

The machine at the Disneyland Hotel has also been updated with some new designs. The machine was updated around the same time the Disneyland Hotel was decorated with special balloons and a photo op for the 70th celebrations.

The machine at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa just offers one medallion, which, like the machine at the Disneyland Hotel, is easy to spot thanks to the one silver button.

There are three 70th anniversary designs available from the machine in Bayou Country. This is right next to the Key to Disneyland station.

One coin that was available here included Henry from the Country Bears and the wordmark for Country Bear Musical Jamboree, the attraction located in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. It was quickly pulled from the machine and is no longer available.

On Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure are a series of medallions featuring designs inspired by the park.

The Disney California Adventure designs feature Grizzly Peak, the Storytellers statue of Walt and Mickey, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and Mickey and Minnie in fancy vintage-style attire. They all feature the 70th anniversary logo.
