With an official trailer, Disney+ announced the streaming date of “Disney’s Frozen: The Hit Broadway Musical.”
Frozen Broadway Musical Coming to Disney+
Disney announced last year that the “Frozen” stage show would be coming soon to Disney+. We now know it will be available for streaming starting on June 20.
Though branded as the Broadway musical, this is a professionally filmed version of the show’s West End production at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which ran from 2021 to 2024. The Broadway show ran from 2018 to 2020, ending with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to the songs from the film, the stage show includes 12 new original songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The musical’s book is by Jennifer Lee, who penned the original screenplay. Michael Grandage directed the original Broadway production and the West End production. Rob Ashford was the choreographer. Set and costume design were by Christopher Oram, and lighting design was by Neil Austin. The West End’s “Frozen” was nominated for four Olivier Awards.
The proshot stars Samantha Barks as Elsa, Stephanie McKeon as Anna, Craig Gallivan as Olaf, Obioma Ugoala as Kristoff, and Oliver Ormson as Hans.
