As shared by the Orange County Register, Vice President Vance was rumored to be visiting Disneyland Resort this weekend. The JD Vance Disneyland visit has now been confirmed by local news station FOX11, with enhanced security specifically being seen in the area around Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, which is where Vance is reportedly staying, “The Vice Presidential motorcade was believed to have been seen in downtown Disney at the Grand Californian Hotel, with the area sealed off with tight security.”

Vice President Vance is visiting Disneyland Resort with his family, as confirmed by the chairman of the Orange County Republican Party. There have also been no details released regarding the nature of his visit or what he will be doing during what is reportedly to be a weekend-long trip.

According to FOX11, Vance’s visit has already drawn some protests around Orange County and the area near Disney’s Grand Californian. The protests have largely been linked to the current administration’s immigration policies.
As seen in an Instagram video shared by @indivisibleca40, protesters gathered on the night of July 11 near the entrance to Disney’s Grand Californian, with the hotel’s entrance sign seen in the background. Many of the people were standing on the sidewalk near the entrance, with a few of them waving the Mexican flag. The group was apparently stopped by security, who are seen in the video lining the street and blocking the protestors from entering the grounds.
There is also a security tent set up across the entrance road, which all guests must pass through to enter the Grand Californian.
Commentors online also noted that Disney Way was temporarily shut down on July 11 by protesters for part of the day. Guests heading towards Disneyland Resort or the area near the Grand Californian are being encouraged to plan for a few extra minutes of travel time, in case the protests or added security cause more delays.
