The new final verse for “it’s a small world” has now debuted at Magic Kingdom.
New Verse for “it’s a small world”
The verse was written by Richard Sherman in 2023 for the attraction’s 60th anniversary (of the original Disneyland version), which is next year. Disneyland decided to add the verse this year as part of the park’s overall 70th anniversary celebrations, and it was later confirmed that Magic Kingdom would also receive the new verse.
Richard Sherman’s son, Gregg Sherman, said the new verse is intended to “celebrate that there’s more that unites us than divides us, and reinforce the message of that song.”
The new lyrics of the verse are below.
“Mother earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.”

On the attraction, the new verse can be heard in the finale room. Watch our POV video of “it’s a small world” at the Magic Kingdom to hear it:
