A new Walt Disney talking figure is now available today, July 17, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Disneyland. It can be purchased online from the Disney Store and in person at Disneyland Resort.

This replica figure of Walt Disney features the founder sitting on the edge of his office desk, taking inspiration from the new Disneyland attraction, “Walt Disney – A Magical Life.” The show features the first-ever Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic.




The figure plays an audio track of Walt’s voice delivering the Disneyland dedication speech with a press of Walt’s upper left-hand desk drawer.

“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” begins with an updated version of the documentary “Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream,” narrated by Disney CEO Bob Iger. After the 15-minute film, the Walt Disney animatronic is revealed and talks to the audience. His speech was created using archival voice recordings, and the figure incorporated “moonshot” advancements in animatronic technology. Watch the full animatronic performance below.
After its initial run for the 70th anniversary celebration, “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will rotate performances with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” thanks to a new turntable set up. The Main Street Opera House also debuted new exhibits celebrating the history of Disneyland, the life of Walt Disney, and the progression of animatronics.
