While Epic Universe was still under construction, one construction worker reported his off-road utility vehicle was stolen at the park.

Tall, ornate Epic Universe archway welcomes visitors; excited crowds gather for AP Previews on a sunny day.

The bizarre situation happened in late February — about three months before Universal’s new theme park officially opened to the public.

At first, the construction foreman said when he went to work at 7 a.m., on a Monday, he realized the 2023 Polaris UTV had been parked in a different spot and the key was broken in the ignition, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office report.

The foreman notified the rental company about the situation and got a new key.

When he went back to work the next day, this time the black and gray UTV was gone. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office was alerted about the stolen vehicle.

The construction foreman told the sheriff’s office “no one was given permission to take the vehicle and it was not loaned out,” the sheriff’s report said.

The construction foreman said he wanted to prosecute and would be willing to testify in court.

The sheriff’s office took more than three months to release the public records, which is why WDWNT is writing about the situation now.

There are lots of mischievous and malicious creatures at Epic Universe. Maybe one of the monsters took it for a joy ride?
