Walt Disney Imagineering shared the following video with the caption, “Guess who’s back…” It’s a quick desk tour, showing off some Disney figures, a whiteboard featuring upcoming projects, CommuniCore and World of Motion posters, and a nametag-shaped sign for Imagineering’s “new hire” – Tom Morrow 2.0.
Tom Morrow 2.0 was the host of Imagineer That, a series of interstitials on Disney Channel that aired circa 1999-2001. He was the robot mascot of Innoventions, which replaced the original CommuniCore at EPCOT, where guests could see him in person. He was removed in 2007.
Imagineering’s video ends with “Coming Soon.” We don’t know for sure if Imagineer That will return, if a similar show will premiere, or if a brand new experience with Tom Morrow 2.0 will debut.
