Howdy! Today was another beautiful day in Walt Disney World. I started my day in Magic Kingdom, then I snuck over to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campgrounds to see the Tri-Circle-D Ranch horses.
Transportation and Ticket Center Tram Signs
When I was walking to security this morning at the Transportation and Ticket Center, I couldn’t help but notice the state of the tram signs. They are all in different forms of distress. This one was perhaps one of the more wild examples, with the images literally peeling away.
I do wonder if the average guest notices the details like this. Let me know if you pick up on these smaller details when you are in the park in the comments below.
Updates from the Monorail
I hopped on the monorail and saw that the roof work at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Convention Center is still in progress, but they are chugging along.
Closer to Magic Kingdom, you can see that area they cleared of trees now has trailers, likely for Imagineers and construction teams to meet and work. I also noticed that there were a lot of metal parts stacked on the opposite side of the lagoon.
That string of flat boats is actually the Electrical Water Pageant.
Good Morning from Magic Kingdom
Good morning from a stunning Magic Kingdom. Did you hear the news? Cinderella Castle is going to be repainted back to its original color scheme, or what I call the superior color scheme. I couldn’t be happier with the news. Goodbye, you sunburnt wannabe castle!
Okay, that was harsh. I did like it when we had all the iridescent accents in the park for the 50th anniversary, but that is long over. Back to the regularly scheduled program. Let me know in the comments how you feel about the upcoming reversal.
NEW Always Dreaming by Disney Jewelry Collection
Always Dreaming by Disney has released a new collection of jewelry featuring Mickey and Minnie, the Walt Disney World marquee, Tinkerbell, and even iconic park snacks. These and other pieces are available for $26.99 each or $21.99 each when you buy two.
More Mars Snacks in Confectionery
It always throws me off when Disney releases new prepackaged snacks. This trail mix with M&Ms is now available in the Confectionery. This is following a few other prepackaged Mars candy bags we found on Wednesday. I’ll have to give this a shot when it cools down a little more and the chocolate won’t get melty.
Film Crews in Magic Kingdom Hub Grass
I noticed that there was a film crew set up in the hub grass most of the morning. I don’t know what they were filming for, but there sure does seem to be a lot of filming going on in the parks this week. Yesterday, we saw film crews in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The Treehouse Water Wheel Haults
BREAKING. Not really, I kid, but the water wheel and cups are not moving at the Swiss Family Treehouse today. It’s not a huge deal, but it sticks out to me because of the loss of kinetic energy in the area. I love the props that move monotonously. I feel like it adds extra life to the parks.
Wet Paint at Pirates of the Caribbean
Over at the Pirates of the Caribbean, they have fresh paint in the entrance. I love it when they hang these themed wet paint signs. I do wish they had given Stitch a pirate look for this location, though. I’m asking for a lot from a wet paint sign that is already adorable and funny.
Have you ever seen these wet paint signs in the parks before? I catch them all the time. They are sneaky with the repainting.
Devastating Losses
When I was walking around the Rivers of America checking for any updates, I noticed not only was there an Olaf bubble wand, but a pair of pickers from a Disney Cast Member. In my head, before the Rivers were really drained, I imagined a nice coordinator was trying to retrieve this Olaf bubble wand for the small guest who likely slipped it in between the railings. Alas, the Coordinator dropped their magical pickers and both were lost to the void.
Let me know in the comments if you have a better story for these items sitting in the muck.
Liberty Square Hijinxs
I was shocked to see that there are only 111 days left until Christmas! That’s crazy! When the heck did that happen? I noticed that the Liberty Square Market, not yet open, had carts of drinks just sitting there. Luckily, Jiminy Cricket lives rent-free in my head so I was not naughty, but free water was hard to walk away from.
Our Liberty Square doll has not moved in literally months. I wonder if she is in equal shock of how quickly Christmas is approaching.
Haunted Mansion Ghoul Stagnant
When I was riding Haunted Mansion today, I noticed that the ghoul in the cemetery wasn’t flowing like he normally does. Usually, there is almost a fan effect that blows his ghoulish garb creepily. Today, that effect seemed not to be functioning. If you are riding anytime soon, keep an eye out for him. Let me know if you see the Tresame model effect or not.
Pinocchio Village Haus Fountain Refurbishment
It would appear that The Pinocchio Village Haus is currently refurbishing their fountain in the entrance. When I was there this morning, I noticed the bottom half is covered in white scrim, tied with white rope, and zip-tied in certain spots. I didn’t see anything in desperate need of refurbishment over the last few visits, but who knows what Disney is doing.
If anything changes, we will certainly update you on our website.
Tri-Circle-D Ranch Friends
It was a fairly uneventful morning in Magic Kingdom, so I made my way to the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds to visit with a few of the horses in the Tri-Circle-D Ranch. If you ever get an opportunity to visit, you absolutely should. Skylar is a Clydesdale and has bright blue eyes. Prince loves attention and will certainly pose for your Instagram story.
Samson is my favorite, but he was not in the mood for a visit today. He kept showing me his behind, which doesn’t make for a good photo report shot. He’s still a good horse, though.
I hope you enjoyed our day in Magic Kingdom and seeing the horses in Tri-Circle-D Ranch. I most enjoyed seeing the horses. I think they have the most expressive eyes. I also think it’s pretty awesome that they work in the parks.
Let me know in the comments below if there is anything you particularly liked or want to see in the future.
