A new “Lion King” photo op has been spotted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the park-wide celebration of the film’s 25th anniversary continues.
The display features Timon and Pumbaa walking with a young Simba across a log above a waterfall, reminiscent of the “Hakuna Matata” scene in the movie.
The photo op is located next to Island Mercantile, as you’re walking towards Pandora: The World of Avatar and Tiffins Restaurant. A photopass photographer will be available at the site to snap a picture.
This is the second “Lion King” photo op to pop up within Animal Kingdom this week. A photo frame that recently appeared in the park features colorful patterns and vignettes from the film, including the classic “Baby Simba on Pride Rock” moment. Mufasa, Scar, Timon and Pumbaa, and Rafiki with Baby Simba all make an appearance.
If you can’t get enough of “The Lion King,” the “Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party,” hosted by Timon and Rafiki also kicked off this week. The dance parties are held daily from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Beginning Memorial Day, a new edition of the Tree of Life Awakenings will celebrate “The Lion King,” with projections featuring music and animation from the film.
This looks just like the one at AOA.
