Wicked: For Good racked in an estimated $20 to $22 million on Thursday night previews, which doesn’t even include showings earlier in the week.
Wicked: For Good Box Office So Far
The estimate comes from Deadline, but Universal will make an official report soon. Thursday previews began at 2 p.m. but early showings began Monday.
The number brings Wicked: For Good close to Fantastic Four: First Steps, which made $24.4 million total on Thursday night showings.
A year ago, Wicked previews made $19.2 million — $11 million of which was from Thursday shows. $2.5 million was from the Monday and $5.7 million was from the Wednesday. It totaled a $112.5 million opening.
Projections for the Wicked: For Good opening range from $125 million to over $175 million.
Globally, Wicked made $758.6 million, 63% of which was from U.S. and Canada audiences.
