Once Upon A Stage: The Magic of Disney on Broadway

Authentic props and costumes from stage productions like The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast are on display alongside photo-ops and behind-the-scenes insights. Several costumes from various productions are against one wall under a “Disney on Broadway” marquee sign.

Some of these costumes were also on display last year. There are outfits from Hercules, Newsies, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Frozen.

Next to the Frozen costumes is the life-size Sven puppet. Kristoff’s reindeer pal is portrayed by an actor inside this intricate 50-pound puppet.

There’s a row of The Lion King costumes and puppets set against a sunrise backdrop.

A group of galloping gazelles in The Lion King is depicted using this wheeled mechanism. Along with the full-size prop, there is a model in a display case.

Costumes Mufasa, Scar, and young Simba are in the center of the room, complete with their unique lion masks.

Beauty and the Beast costumes are grouped together. These include different versions of Belle’s famous yellow ballgown, as well as the Beast’s blue velvet suit.

Two other Belle costumes include a pink dress and her blue “village” dress.

There’s a photo op with an Enchanted Rose prop in front of a backdrop based on the West Wing.

One corner is based on a Broadway wig shop, with dozens of wigs from different productions grouped around a vanity.
The exhibit is displayed inside CommuniCore Hall. Watch our video of the full exhibit here:
