Concrete Added to Epic Universe Fireworks Launch Peninsula

Concrete has been added to the Epic Universe fireworks launch. Thanks to aerial pictures from @bioreconstruct, we have a look at what could mean a new show for the park.

Concrete has been poured over a small patch of the Epic Universe fireworks launch peninsula. Utility work is also occurring near the opposite end. Epic Universe does not currently have a fireworks show, but in an article by Orlando Weekly, Universal Team Members Anitra Pritchard and Patrick Braillard mention the lack of such a show while discussing the current fountain show:

But at night, they’ve gathered the fountain shows from all of the worlds, so you’re going to see a bigger show for our closing fountain show. We’re still looking into [fireworks]; we’re still working on it.

This quote implies that a type of nighttime fireworks show or spectacular for Epic Universe is still on the table.

The launch is located just behind the Universal Helios Grand Hotel at Epic Universe. The peninsula extends into the body of water a little over halfway. This could be a sign that an Epic Universe nighttime spectacular is on the way.

If you want to see a complete video of the current nighttime show at Epic Universe, we have one with multiple camera angles on our channel:

The lack of fireworks at Epic Universe came as a bit of a surprise to some guests on opening day, because the presence of fireworks over the top of the Universal Helios Grand Hotel had been heavily teased in official concept art for the park. Fireworks had also been spotted testing over Epic Universe several times during the construction period, leading many to believe the park would open with its own nighttime show.

Despite this, the only major fireworks were launched during a special grand opening version of the nighttime fountain show that was performed only once during the Epic Universe blue carpet event night prior to May 22. Promotional artwork for the first Fourth of July holiday at Epic Universe also featured fireworks, but the July 4th Evening Celebrations performance ultimately did not.
