In addition to a Cold Weather Advisory, Walt Disney World is under a fire weather warning for most of the day Friday, February 6.
Fire Weather Warning
An elevated danger of fire across East Central Florida has put a fire weather warning for Disney World and surrounding areas. It is expected from 8:53 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on February 6.
Affected regions include: Inland Volusia, Northern Lake, Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Okeechobee, Coastal Volusia, Southern Lake, Coastal Indian River, Coastal Saint Lucie, Inland Northern Brevard, Inland Indian River, Inland Saint Lucie, Mainland Northern Brevard,
Northern Brevard Barrier Islands, Inland Southern Brevard, Mainland Southern Brevard, and Southern Brevard Barrier Island.
A red flag warning is in effect until 6:00 pm for breezy west winds and low humidity. This affects Volusia, Lake, Orange, Seminole, Brevard, Osceola, Okeechobee, Indian River, and Saint Lucie. This means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds and low relative humidity along with warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
West winds are expected of 15 mph with guests of 20 to 25 mph, and humidity is at 25 to 35 percent. Any fires that develop are likely to spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Disney has not revealed any changes to shows and entertainment today.
