The roof of Adventureland’s Enchanted Tiki Room is currently being repainted in Magic Kingdom.
Enchanted Tiki Room Roof Painting

In November of 2025, Walt Disney World filed a new construction permit for Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room in Magic Kingdom. Disney had not announced a refurbishment at that time, but it now appears that the permit could have been for room repainting.

The Notice of Commencement contracted PCL Construction Services for “General Construction” at 4873C Caribbean Way, the address of the classic attraction. A Facilities Asset Management representative was listed on the permit rather than an Imagineer, which meant the permit was for more general refurbishment work rather than major changes to the Enchanted Tiki Room.

A closure is not on the schedule for Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, and the permit expires on November 4 2026. When in the park today, we noticed that the roof of the attraction was being repainted with railings up around the project. The thatched section of the roof seems to be untouched at this time.

The majority of the painting seems to be regulated to flat roofing. This is likely to prevent further weathering on the current paint.
The Enchanted Tiki Room opened in Walt Disney World’s Adventureland on opening day, October 1, 1971. The attraction which was originally named Tropical Serenade will celebrate 55 years this year. Read the complete history of the attraction for a more detailed look at changes throughout the years.
