Today, February 8, is Disney California Adventure’s actual 25th birthday, and special maps with opening-day attractions and retro logos are available to commemorate it.

California Adventure 25th Anniversary Guidemap

The front of this Special Edition Guidemap features the original entrance plaza with the large CALIFORNIA letters, the Golden Gate Bridge monorail track, and the mosaic mountain range. The letters were donated in 2012 to the Friends of the California State Fair, a nonprofit organization that benefits California Exposition & State Fair (Cal Expo) in Sacramento.

The back of the map is a collage of retro logos, including California Screamin’ (now Incredicoaster), the Sun Wheel (now Pixar Pal-A-Around), Mulholland Madness (now Goofy’s Sky School), Condor Flats (now Grizzly Peak Airfield), and the now-defunct Maliboomer and Flik’s Fun Fair.

Inside is a map of the park on its Grand Opening, February 8, 2001, where you can see the layout featuring original lands and attractions, such as A Bug’s Land (where Avengers Campus now sits) and the infamous Superstar Limo ride in Hollywood Land.

A note at the bottom shows which opening-day attractions are still running, including Soarin’ Over California, which will run its opening-day overlay through July 1, 2026. Several other original attractions are still around, but have since been rethemed as listed above.

Finally, the special guidemap includes a note that says “Thank you for celebrating 25 years with us today!” with information about the commemorative merchandise and food available, as well as artwork of Mickey and Minnie in their 25th anniversary costumes.
