Disney World States Resort Decorations Are Just For Hotel Guests, May Hint at Future Transportation Restrictions

Disney World states that holiday decorations at the resorts are just for hotel guests and those with dining reservations. This may signal that Disney is planning to restrict transportation options in the future to non-hotel guests.

Disney shared dates and details for its upcoming 2026 holiday season, and in that post, they made the following statement regarding resort offerings:

“For guests staying at the resorts or for those with valid dining reservations, the Disney Resorts Collection offers a wide array of bright and merry holiday decor.”

While it’s always been a restriction that guests can’t park at most resorts just to walk around and look at the decor, this suggests they may be taking steps to actively enforce guest-only access to the hotels.

Right now, anyone is able to access the resorts from the parks or other locations on property. For example, guests traveling from Magic Kingdom can hop on the Monorail and visit the Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian. EPCOT guests can easily walk out of the International Gateway and walk to Beach Club, Yacht Club, and the Boardwalk. These do not require vehicle parking.

With Disney also gearing up to permanently restrict guests from boarding resort buses and watercraft at Disney Springs this coming week, we may see more transportation restrictions across Walt Disney Resort in the future.
