It seems the fan-favorite animal encounter, Winged Encounters – The Kingdom Takes Flight bird show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is ending its four-year run this week.
Winged Encounters – The Kingdom Takes Flight seems to be ending this week at Animal Kingdom. This is the macaw flyover in front of the Tree of Life. I always enjoyed this!https://t.co/rjvqEKNjW4

The last date showing times for the experience on the Walt Disney World website is Saturday, May 25th:
The schedule for the experience remains empty for the remainder of the calendar:
This short show showcases six types of macaw: hyacinth, green-winged, blue and gold, scarlet, blue-throated and military while avian experts taught audiences about how these birds have become endangered out in the wild.
We have a video of the experience from back when it debuted in 2014, before it was moved over to the front of the Tree of Life:
While none of this has been officially announced by Disney, if Winged Encounters is finally removed, we’re sure many fans of this experience will miss it sorely.
This should become the basis for a new animal show….the current UP offering is horrible!
It’s done by the same company that trained and owns the animals in UP. Must be a money saving move. Too bad. It was a lovely show; I’ve been catching it since it’s unofficial run. The first time I tried to find it, it was difficult finding a Cast Member who knew what I was talking about.
A glorious sight that helped make AK the best park. Terrible, terrible if it is gone.
