Guests visiting CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort were introduced to a new robotic dog this week. Latte the robotic dog appeared outside Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen. The dog, elaborately themed with steampunk touches, joined Penelope and Jacques, performing for the assembled crowd. Latte appears to be based on the Boston Dynamics Spot robot.
Jacques and Penelope are excited to introduce Latte, but Latte appears to be sleeping. The crowd is asked to jingle keys to wake Latte; she will think she’s about to take a car ride. Latte is sleeping just behind the line of planters.
A closer look at Latte sleeping behind the potted plants.
After hearing jingling keys, Latte springs into action. You can watch a full YouTube video of her performance below:
Latte’s legs allow her to tilt from side to side.
Jacques and Penelope are ready to show off Latte’s tricks.
The robotic dog performs for Jacques, Penelope, and the crowd. Penelope and Jacques explain to the crowd that they are first-time pet owners. The crowd suggests tricks that Latte could do. This adds interactivity to the experience.
Latte’s tricks include barking, dancing, turning, and sitting.
Latte’s steampunk theme is quite extensive.

Very cool! This is what Galaxy’s Edge is really missing.
