Only a few days ago, we saw that demolition had begun and the canopy had been removed at the Electric Umbrella behind Spaceship Earth. Today we caught a glimpse of even more elements of the old quick-service restaurant being torn down.
The overhang of the restaurant has been destroyed.
Some umbrella shapes still seem to be inside, but that won’t last for long. The construction vehicle out front is stacked on a pile of rubble.
How do you feel about the closure and demolition of the Electric Umbrella? Let us know in the comments.

Just like the Fountain of Nations, I will miss the Electric Umbrella. It had such an 80s vibe, and I’m a product of the 80s. Oh well…progress stops for no one!
We have learned to live with those masks….for NOW.
However, when this is all over we will be a lot happier, although the smaller crowds at WDW make things a bit easier overall.
Another iteresting thing to point out about the phots is how well the go-away blue color of the new Guardians building works!
