Though TRON Lightcycle / Run is likely delayed and may not open in time for Magic Kingdom’s 50th anniversary next year, construction is still moving on the coaster’s illuminated canopy.
When we visited Tomorrowland today, we saw several construction workers throughout the site.
With more white supports installed, we can see how the canopy will curve towards the show building.
In the distance, construction workers stood on scaffolding beneath the track as they continue adding paneling to the building.
A canopy piece is staged nearby.
And another canopy piece is staged near the show building doors.
Workers were in a high reach near the track, possibly to adjust the tarps that keep it protected while construction continues.
While the canopy is taking shape, there is still plenty of work to be done. Once the canopy is complete, the temporary supports will be removed.
In front of Space Mountain, the installed canopy pieces are clear.
Once piece looks like it was freshly installed this morning, with a crane still attached to it.
