VIDEO: Electrical Water Pageant Testing Underway at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Resort may be (mostly) back up and running, but there’s a Seven Seas Lagoon-sized hole in our hearts with the absence of the classic Electrical Water Pageant, which has been unavailable since the reopening of the resort. Recently, however, guests have been able to catch glimpses of the pageant’s floats staged by the dock, and tonight, they were testing with both lights and music on:

In the video embedded above from Ben Wszalek, you can see the lights on and moving for the floats, with the opening “Fanfare” music from The Little Mermaid playing along. The Electrical Water Pageant is still listed as Temporarily Unavailable on its Walt Disney World landing page, however this could signal its return… possibly as a surprise-and-delight for resort guests over the holidays. (It may also just be routine testing, though.)

The Electrical Water Pageant premiered on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake for “Dedication Day” at Walt Disney World on October 25, 1971, and the floating nighttime parade has been entertaining guests with whimsical sea creatures and classic Disney tunes ever since. The pageant usually begins its route at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort before moving on to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort past Narcoossee’s, then Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, followed by Fort Wilderness, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and finally, outside the entrance to Magic Kingdom.

Are you looking forward to the hopeful return of the Electrical Water Pageant at Walt Disney World? Let us know in the comments below!
