Dining Pavilion & Grocery Store to be Added Soon to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge

According to bizjournals.com, construction will begin soon on the new dining pavilion for Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Wilderness Lodge.

With the construction of additional Disney Vacation Club units (including cabins) already underway, new dining options and a grocery store will be built to serve the needs of these guests and the existing resorts. We first told you about these dining additions in June of 2015 when the resort expansion project was leaked.

Disney has filed permits with the South Florida Water Management District this week to commence the project.

      • While there may be some additions to Fort Wilderness also happening, the DVC expansion is in parts of the Wilderness Lodge Hotel (similar to the AKL conversion to DVC) and new construction in front of the current Wilderness Lodge Villas and along the beach up to the boat dock. The above infers that this is an expansion of Fort Wilderness which has been rumored to happen in the future, but the current DVC expansion is at Wilderness Lodge called “Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge”. Many people confuse Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness as being the same resort.

  1. That article has been removed. The author was notified that those were old permits from 2011. The reason it should back up in permit searches is that new documents were added – the withdraw documents. This is nor an active project.
