The Transportation and Ticket Center is in the midst of being refurbished for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. Most recently, the poster kiosk has been given a new color scheme and now we’ve been seeing areas around the transportation hub being repainted—and even removed.
The first notable change we saw today is some paintwork recently completed on the EPCOT side of the Monorail station while the EPCOT line remains closed.
These varying levels of brick are now grey, which is reminiscent of the new colors that the Walt Disney World Resort entrance signs have been receiving.
Previously white, the fresh coat of paint is apparent with the dried paint drips.
Another notable change is the removal of some themed railing.
Compared to the photo above taken in the next section over, you can see that the bright orange and green railing is mising from the area closer to the Ferryboat.
The railing was most likely removed to be refurbished into the new 50th Anniversary colors that include pink, blue, grey, and gold—but we’ve only seen gold and shades of blue so far at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
The supports for the railing along this ledge have been capped off for guests’ safety.
We’ve recently seen the 50th Anniversary color scheme first begin on a water fountain at the Transportation and Ticket Center, and it seems as though Walt Disney World is going ahead and replacing the transportation hub’s classic look.
