When Disneyland Resort reopened to Californians, guests staying at the resort’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa no longer had access to the special Disney California Adventure park entrance that had been a staple of the hotel since 2001. Disney has now announced that the special entrance will return for Disneyland Resort hotel guests to use.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, guests staying at the Grand Californian could take advantage of the hotel’s dedicated entrance to Disney California Adventure. This gate was a real perk. However, now they can only exit the park this way. Hotel guests currently need to enter the parks via Downtown Disney District, joining other guests in lining up for park entry — including Disney California Adventure.
Returning on May 28 to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the special entrance to Disney California Adventure park for Disneyland Resort hotel guests. This will also be used by guests staying at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel starting June 15th when it reopens.
Prior to the pandemic closure, Paradise Pier guests could no longer access the Grand Cali DCA entrance due to a key card gate across the sidewalk entering Grand Cali on foot from Disneyland Dr. This key card gate could only be opened by Grand Cali room keys. Paradice Pier and DLH guests had to enter via Downtown Disney and walk to DCA’s front entrance. This story sounds like Paradise Pier guests will have entry access to the Grand Cali DCA gate, but will Paradise Pier guests be able to enter the Grand Cali from the Disneyland Dr. sidewalk gate? Or will Paradise Pier guest still have to enter via Downtown Disney security, walk to Grand Cali’s DTD entrance (and thereby exit the secure area), cut throught the hotel and re-clear security to enter the Grand Cali DCA gate?
They said today that all hotel guests at both can. It remains to be seen if they actually can.
