Disney has removed the signs next to the entrance of Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The Trader Sam’s logo remains, but the signs indicating operating hours and age restrictions have been removed.
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is located in the back of the Great Ceremonial House, which is currently under refurbishment. The popular tiki bar is closed at this time.
For comparison, the photo below shows the signage in place previously. The above photo was taken today.
Trader Sam has been under controversy lately, with his animatronic removed from the Jungle Cruise and two Grog Grotto shirts removed from shelves at BouTiki.
The signs were likely removed because the bar is currently closed, and no reopening date has been given. It is strange given how the signage was left since March 2020’s closure of Walt Disney World and through all of the reopening phases. The removal is not necessarily indicative of any larger changes to the bar, but it could indicate a reopening is coming, perhaps with new hours of operation.

Woke SJWs strikes again
Have they announced when the Poly will be done with this referb and be reopen?
It says right in the last paragraph of the article that a reopening date hasn’t been announced yet.
I think that’s a reference to “no reopen date for the bar” I meant the Ploy Resort/Monorail Station… I was wondering if the small bar will remain closed for covid/distancing reasons after the Resort reopens, and that’s maybe why they took the signs down
