After seeing major progress last week, we had our hopes up for more changes at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We were rewarded as there were several new developments this week. Let’s take a look at what we found!

A few days ago, several new crossbar support beam sections were installed on the porte-cochére.

Today, crews were working at the site with several large cranes in action. Some scaffolding remains on the ends of the structure.

Crews were active on the monorail station. Last week, we reported the addition of scaffolding atop the track. The crews are utilizing that scaffolding plus crane lifts this week.

We got a closer look at the teams working on the station when we rode the monorail from the Magic Kingdom. Work is being done around the concrete pillars that support the roof frame.

The most exciting development is the installation of roofing above the walkway to the Grand Ceremonial House!

Metal roofing is in place. It will likely have decorative surfacing or other roofing materials placed on top before construction is complete.

Disney’s Polynesian Village resort is set to reopen in mid-July with newly refurbished Moana-themed rooms.
