We headed over to The Boathouse at Disney Springs to try the new Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, in honor of the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. And ultimately, it ended up being the best 50th anniversary treat that we have tried so far. Keep on reading for our review.
Pineapple Upside-Down Cake – $10
Traditional, Rum Glazed, Buttercream Icing
In Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World
We are quite frankly tired of EARidescent desserts as we’ve had practically all of them on property, but we forgot this is The Boathouse and it is possibly the best restaurant at Walt Disney World.
This is essentially a pineapple pound cake covered in rum sauce, sprinkles, and what we would equate to birthday cake flavored whipped cream.
It takes a fine picture, but one bite in and we knew we had finally found the absolute best 50th anniversary item anyone has made.
The cake is served warm, moist on the inside but crumbly, soaked with this delicious rum sauce. On top of that, we all felt we could eat a plate of just this whipped topping.
There are chunks of fresh pineapple on the inside too, just the perfect amount to add some fruity flavor to most bites.
It’s a good size offering too as it’s a bit heavy, enough for 3-4 guests.
We already recommend that you eat at The Boathouse for dinner, but this is yet another reason to sail on over.
