We saw that some of the bunting for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration on Cinderella Castle has been removed. Let’s take a closer look at the changes.
Bunting Removed From Cinderella Castle
Today we noticed that a portion of the bunting has been removed from Cinderella Castle. The moat is still drained to facilitate work on removing these decorations.
A metal staircase is also set up within the moat to help Cast Members enter and exit safely.
Cherry pickers are in use by the crew to reach Cinderella Castle’s lofty spires.
As we can see in the picture above, the two left-most towers no longer have the 50th Anniversary Celebration bunting attached. The décor still remains on the two right-most towers and castle walls pictured here.
“The Most Magical Celebration on Earth,” Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, just concluded at the end of March, 2023. Disney is now celebrating it’s 100th anniversary as a company.
Disney100 Anniversary Celebration
Across all six parks and on a global scale, Disney is celebrating “100 Years of Wonder.” This celebration is the largest event ever thrown by The Walt Disney Company. The heart of the celebration takes place at Disneyland Resort, as it is “The Place Where it All Began.”
The party kicked off January 27, 2023. This massive celebration will allow guests to party for the same length of time as the previous 50th Anniversary Party, and is expected to last through July 2024.
In Walt Disney World, Disney100 will mostly be celebrated at EPCOT with Mickey and Minnie in their new platinum outfits. A platinum Mickey sculpture is also to be installed in the park, which will presumably be the same as the one as seen at Disneyland. A new Spectacle of Light show will debut on Spaceship Earth and in late 2023, a new Disney100 nighttime spectacular will replace EPCOT Forever. This show was brought back after the end of Harmonious in early April, but has only returned as an interim replacement.
In addition, Journey of Water, CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, World Celebration Garden, and Dreamers Point featuring the “Dreamer” statue of Walt Disney are all scheduled to open in late 2023 at EPCOT.
During the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort, guests can enjoy Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland and World of Color – ONE at Disney California Adventure. Disneyland has also received a platinum Minnie statue for the occasion.
