Heart of Te Fiti Mochi Dole Whip Cup- $6.29
Dole Whip Pineapple with Mochi Cake, Moana-inspired White Chocolate, and an Edible Flower
We stopped by Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to try the new “Moana” inspired Heart of Te Fiti Mochi Dole Whip cup.
The new dessert premiered just in time to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islanders Heritage Month at Walt Disney World.
This new treat is available in two flavors: vanilla or pineapple. We opted to go with the classic pineapple Dole Whip flavor.
The pineapple Dole Whip had its usual tart, sweet pineapple flavor. The mochi cake was sprinkled on top with small cubes. We found it to be chewy and dense — unlike cake, which is lighter and fluffier.
The mochi cake was mostly flavorless, although we did detect some buttery sweetness after a few moments.
The white chocolate Heart of Te Fiti is similar to most of the decorations atop Disney desserts — if you get a fresh one, it’s a nice touch. We found this one to be a nice touch.
The flower was edible, but it didn’t really add flavor to the dish. In this case, it was purely aesthetic.
