As Halloween Horror Nights 32 guests learn the story of Dr. Oddfellow, they’ll find themselves in the Jungle of Doom: Expedition Horror scare zone.
Jungle of Doom: Expedition Horror
In the 1920s, Dr. Oddfellow ventured deep into the darkest jungle, performing horrific experiments on nature. Now his monstrous creations are running amok and are coming after you.

Review
This is the second smallest scare zone but they know how to play to the area’s strengths. This scare zone is our favorite so far this year and probably in our top five favorite scare zones of the past decade.
Thick foliage, terrifying and gross ambient sounds, heavy fog, props, and especially the creatures all work in tandem to create a palpable threat. Oddfellow’s vignette wherein he finds a magical skull has no dialogue but moves the story along effectively.
The Scareactors here have a lot of good tricks. Some favorites include the bird-like stiltwalker who squats down to blend in before rising up to tower over passersby. One of the creatures in a tent doesn’t rely on jump scares — instead, they creepily wrap their fingers around the opening and peel it back before lunging. You see it coming and it’s worse for it (in the best way). There’s a ghillie suit creature that always gets good scares, too.
We also liked the strong but low-effort effect of having a few huge bats hanging with glowing eyes at the edges of the zones and then hundreds of glowing eyes buried in the trees throughout. This was by far the scariest and most creative of the scare zones.
