Meanwhile, the Pistachio Cake comes to The Artist’s Table from The Painter’s Palate, where it was last year.

This was cooked to a nice medium temperature. The red wine demi-glace was tasty and helped keep the beef from drying out. We didn’t get or see the prosciutto on the plate. Overall, it was a yummy dish.

The scallops were fishy, chewy, and stringy; overall, just really bad quality. The foam was interesting, so it’s a shame the dish was so bad.

Pistachio Cake with Cherry Mousse and Morello Cherries – $4.75

This cake was fantastic. It was a rich pistachio-flavored cake with small pieces of nut inside. It offset nicely with the cherry mousse. The Morello cherries were rich and chocolatey with a subdued cherry flavor. This is a must get.

Sipping Chocolate Flight: White, Milk and Dark – $8.50

REVIEW: "The Artist's Table" Food Studio - Epcot International Festival of the Arts 2017
Sipping Chocolate Flight: White, Milk and Dark – $8.50

This trio of drinking chocolate is unbelievably rich in flavor and so much so that it felt like we were drinking chocolate syrup out of the bottle. While I have enjoyed versions of these drinks from Amorette’s Patisserie and Ghirardelli, I didn’t think that these were nearly as good. The portion sizes are large enough to share between 2-3 people (simply because I can’t imagine that anyone could possibly have more than a few sips of such a thick and rich chocolate flavor).

*NEW* Lexington Brewing Company Mammoth White Ale, Lexington, KY (5.3% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.

From Lexington Brewing Company: “With flavor as big a the cave itself, Mammoth White Ale is our take on a Belgium style wheat ale. Brewed with flaked wheat, coriander, and orange peel, this brew drinks light and refreshing. Unfiltered for an optimal depth of flavor, it boast of naturally cloudy appearance with a light golden hue. Slight hop notes come from Hallertau and Saaz added to the boil. ”

*NEW* Copperpoint Brewing Company Analoger Amber Ale, Boynton Beach, FL (5.0% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.

From correspondence with Copperpoint Brewing Company, Alaloger is in fact an amber lager, rather than an ale, and “has lovely caramel malt notes with a hint of biscuit. It is light bodied and easy drinking.”

*NEW* M.I.A. Beer Company Yacht Rock Brown Ale, Doral, FL (4.5% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.

From M.I.A. Beer Company: “This classic boat beer is our lightest offering. It’s brewed with a little rice and a hint of hops.”

*NEW* Lange Estate Winery Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, OR ($33/bottle) – $7.00

Total Wine & More describes this as “a very attractively floral edge to this pinot with an edge of cassis and blueberries, leading to a palate that has a very supple and attractively fresh and crunchy, dark-berry and plum finish.”

One of the more interesting new offerings are these hot, alcoholic sipping chocolates. Despite it’s heavy liquor taste, the white chocolate seems to be the one that works the best. The other just felt very heavy and with no reward in flavor. While Festival of the Arts runs in January and February, we get some warm days in Orlando at this time, and the first day of the festival was just that. A hot, heavy chocolate drink like this isn’t what you want when its above 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
