They are slicing the meats fresh right here in the booth before assembling this brilliance in a cone. No, you can’t eat the cone, but you can eat all the cheese and olives and meats packed into it. There’s value here for the price, due to the freshness of all the ingredients, plus it’s just tasty. Recommended.

Paella with Saffron Rice, Chorizo, and Shrimp – $6.75

Paella with Saffron Rice, Chorizo, and Shrimp – $6.75

Spanish-style paella is a staple at the Spain Global Marketplace, but this time around, it wasn’t as good as the charcuterie. The rice seems a little overdone and the shrimp is nothing to write home about. If anything, the chorizo is the winner of the dish, giving it a little kick. Otherwise, the paella is blander than we expected.

This dish is really oily. This is understandable, given the mixture is tossed in olive oil, but when half the glass is filled with oil, that’s just not fun. Still, there’s a healthy mixture of shrimp, scallops, mussels, olives, peppers, and more, making for a unique and flavorful offering. The price might be a bit too much if you don’t get a few good pieces of seafood, but we feel it’s a risk worth taking.

*NEW* Viña Borgia Macabeo White Sangria ($20/3L bottle) – $6.50

From Winebow Fine Wine & Spirits: “Young crisp white wine with a light straw color, elegant aromas of citrus, peach and pear fruit. Bright tastes of key lime pie with the subtle notes and structure.”

*NEW* Viña Borgia Rosé Sangria ($8/bottle) – $6.50

From Winebow Fine Wine & Spirits: “Young rose wine with elegant aromas. Clear, bright raspberry tinged wine produced from the teardrop juice of a selection of our best Garnacha grapes. Intense fruit aromas, smooth and balanced on the palate.”

*NEW* Viña Borgia Garnacha Red Sangria ($9/bottle) – $6.50

From Winebow Fine Wine & Spirits: “Fresh bright red fruit balanced by a fine structure and ample bouquet. Viña Borgia is made from 100% Grenache and is a fine example of this varietal.”
