Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Fly high over Adventureland on an enchanted carpet ride inspired by the Disney movie Aladdin.

Soar above a Disney attraction on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin with his magic lamp against a bright blue sky.

“I can show the world, but here’s a barf bag just in case…”

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a fresh-looking take on the old carnival standby: the spinning flat ride. Eerily similar to Dumbo the Magic Elephant, this attraction features 16 cars that can hold four passengers each. As the vehicles travel in a counter-clockwise directions, guests sitting in the front row can control how high or low your carpet will fly, and those in the back can control the vehicles pitch to a slight degree. There’s not a whole lot to this attraction, just get in an enjoy riding in circles. Some good views of the surrounding area are available, but be sure to watch out for the giant camel who spits water on unsuspecting guests as they ride. (There’s another spitting camel in front of the attraction who focuses his spittle on passersby, who may or may not appreciate the cool water splashing their faces on a hot day.)

Behind the Schemes:

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin was manufactured by Zamperla, an Italian company that specializes in family-friendly rollercoasters around the world. They are slated to overhaul Cedar Point’s much more aggressive coaster, Top Thrill Dragster, in 2023, which may very well bring them an extra nugget of respect in the amusement community.

Reality Check:

Though not harmful to humans, camel spit is actually made up of contents of their stomachs mixed with their saliva. In theory, camels are vomiting on Disney World guests.
