Walt Disney World’s worst kept secret at this point is the gondola transportation system that will link Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation Resort, and Pop Century Resort. With that being said, construction walls are now up at International Gateway, the World Showcase entrance to Epcot, for what we believe to be the gondola station for that park.

The work site is quite large, visible from the bridge connecting the Beach Club and Boardwalk.

What was a tram stop many years ago will now likely be the gondola station for guests at Epcot, just steps away from the entrance and boat dock.

No work has begun yet, but materials are arriving.

It should be interesting to see how this changes the often quiet second entrance to Epcot.

The Walt Disney World gondola system is expected to be announced at the D23 Expo 2017 in just a few weeks.

    • I’m not gonna miss it. That empty space is a jerk!! It made me slip and fall on my butt when it was raining. Good riddance!

  1. I love that space too. It used to be where the trams turned around when they had trams running from the yacht and beach clubs. I rode them a bunch of times but they never really fit in there.

  2. That gate is gonna be severely stressed unless it too gets expnaded. 2 turnstyles was enough for the guest of the 5 resorts and people who came from HS thru it. Now they’ll add 3 more densely populated resorts to that entrance. Let’s see how that turns out

    • I’m sure you’ll be watching intently, with steam coming out of your ears, slowly rotting inside from your anger and sadness stemming from severe loneliness, screaming internally for someone to love you and tell you it’s all going to be ok. It will be ok Pete, it will if you just let it.

      • Is that incoherent paragraph all you could come up with? I thought Disney employees were underpaid but you’re an example of an overpaid incompetent one.

        • That’s it, let the rage out Pete. Let the hate flow through you. Don’t listen to those who say you’re a bitter, miserable shelf of a man. Incapable of feeling joy or letting others experience happiness due to your impotence and simmering self loathing. You sir are a champion. Fighting the good fight. Spending your day being angry on a theme park news sites comments section. This will be the glory of your existence. The time you look back on from your death bed and say to yourself as you exit this plane of existence: “good job Pete. You sure showed them!!” Then you’ll poop yourself and expire.

          • Damn, nice projection, sonny. I can understand that anybody pointing out how Disney is falling hurts you. Is your happy place and anyone meddling with your happy place is your enemy. The on only place you feel happy.

I mistook you for a paid Disney shill and I apologize. You’re just a sad person trying to keep that bubble about your happy place and anybody opening your eyes is your enemy. Is there a patreon account anybody can send some money for you?

  3. They’ll have to expand the number of tapstiles. It can back up now, and that’s just mostly from Crescent Lake hotel guest. Add in POP/AoA and DHS park hoppers and it will be much busier.
