Raglan Road Adds New Food Allergies Warning After Guest Died from Allergic Reaction

The Disney Springs restaurant Raglan Road has added a new food allergies warning after a guest died from an allergic reaction from dining at the location.

On the Raglan Road site, guests who scroll down are now met with the following message:

Raglan Road allergies warning

“FOR GUESTS WITH FOOD ALLERGIES
Kindly note that we are NOT a Gluten/Allergen free restaurant. We CANNOT guarantee that any dish we prepare is free from Gluten/Allergen or free from cross contact. Guests must notify their server of any allergy friendly requests. A Manager will then discuss our Allergy Menu with you. Guests must use their own discretion to make informed choices based on their individual dietary needs. Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry or shellfish may increase your risk of foodborne illness.”

As recently as January 2024, that portion of the webpage read:

Raglan Road old note

“Now for the really interesting bit: the food. Although Raglan Road is an Irish pub and we’re all about fun, we take our food very seriously. We’ve put a lot of thought and work into our menus which showcase contemporary Irish dining. You’re going to be pleasantly surprised because we’re going to delight your palate with award-winning cuisine prepared in collaboration with the finest local Florida producers.”

This appears to be in relation to an October 2023 incident in which a guest with severe dairy and nuts allergies notified Raglan Road staff of her allergies but was allegedly served food with both dairy and nuts. She later died of anaphylaxis, due to elevated levels of dairy and nuts in her system. The news came out in March 2024, when her husband filed suit against Disney and Raglan Road.
