Inflated Price For Park 1 Chaser

Needless to say this eBay auction turned a few heads the other day. Thanks to Brad for giving us the heads up.

eBay seller JMPERRIN from Michigan sold this Red Balloon chaser. Hey, at least he offered Free Shipping! Not many of these list too often, so it’s hard to get a full picture of the average price, but this seems to be higher than most people have seen. There is another listing from a seller in California for a Red Balloon that reference this sale and is trying to get $2,000 in a Buy It Now. We will see how that one ends. There is also a second Red Balloon listing. This one coming in from Clermont, Florida. It has 2 bids, 2 days left and is at $200. The seller does note there is no card, box or foil with this figure.

What do you think about this? Fluke or price rising? What’s the highest you have seen the holy grail of Vinylmation sell for?

  1. i still say..wait a few years and you’ll be able to grab this for a fraction of todays prices..thats the trouble…most collectors cant wait.lol

  2. you have got to be kidding a 20.00 toy for 2000 if yiu wait just like beNIE Bbies it will go lower

  3. If you search, he also had an auction that ended the exact same day for the exact same item, with no bids, for 375. Seems fishy his one listed for 375 didn’t sell, but the 2000 buy it now did…

  4. jmperrin ended the listing for the balloon chaser which had a price of $374.99/BIN $499.99 at 8:22am and only to relist it where it sold 13 minutes later for the ridiculous price of $2050.00. the buyer was someone with a feedback of 59 and if you look at the other things this person has bid on then you gotta think that she must be really new to collecting vinylmations and not realize how much she is overpaying. the other balloon chaser listed by billvan23 is still currently up on ebay for the beginning price of $1800./BIN $2000.00. and I imagine it won’t sell as $450.00 is pretty much the going rate for a balloon chaser. if jmperrin made a valid sale then he was very lucky to have found that “once in a life-time” buyer

  5. Something tells me this is a hoax just to spark interest in the figure to those who want to sell them for inflated prices. I seen one seller say in his auction “Get this for the low price, one just sold for $2000” this just proves my point.

  6. It was not a scam. A person in California saw my listing and wanted it really bad and said they would pay $2050 for it, so I cancelled my listing and created a new one with a BIN for her. She paid instantly, so I shipped it the same day. Item arrived, she was happy, left me positive feedback, and I was happy!!! It helps pay for my family vacation to DisneyWorld this year. I’ve been a long time collector, but this was a story to remember for me.
