Food & Wine 2012 Vinylmation

Food & Wine 2012 Vinylmation

Last year’s Food and Wine Vinylmation, while a nice artistic design, didn’t capture the essence of the festival to me. This year’s is a different story.

The Disney Parks Blog just released the above product shot of the 2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Vinylmation… and it is remarkable! Tony from Lady and the Tramp is the subject of this stunning Billy Davis designed piece. His right ear is full of spaghetti and meatballs with the left a starry night sky.

Here we see Tony delivering a heaping plate of spaghetti and meatballs to Lady and Tramp. What a great job Bill Davis did at capturing Tony’s unique face. The large nose, mustache, grey around the eyes, balding head… it’s all in there. This figure will be LE 2500 and be released at the start of the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot on September 28th. We were also given a look at some other merchandise.

The Figment is the LE Annual Passholder pin and Mickey in the cranberry pool is a DVC exclusive. Visit Once Upon a Pin for more info.

NOAH has painted the signature artwork for the festival. We will see it appear on numerous items throughout the festival. The Epcot Food & Wine Festival is my very favorite time of year at WDW. I’m not sure what I am more excited about, Tony or the food… who am I kidding… the food. What foods are you most looking forward too? And how about that Tony vinyl!

  1. I was thinking the same thing! A lady and the tramp set of 12 would be oh so amazing to me…But I guess we’ve already got some of the characters from other sets. Really loving this Tony vinyl though!

  2. I guess I’m the only one who likes last year’s F&W vinyl more than this year’s Tony vinyl. It just seems like they went the easier route to use a character from a Disney movie to represent the festival as opposed to coming up with a unique and different design. I mean, when I see this vinyl, I think of Lady and the Tramp, not the Food and Wine Festival. They could have at lease put the F&W logo on his apron. Maybe then I would have liked it more.

  3. I was wondering if any of you who have been to the festival in the past (or just happen to know) could tell me how fast these limited edition food and wine vinylmations usually sell out? As of now, I’m planning on going on the first day, but if I could hold off until October, that’d be even better!

However, I don’t want to miss out on purchasing one of these! Where in Epcot do you do so anyway?

Appreciate any guidanace – thanks in advance!

    • That’s a hard one to answer. With these “event” Vinylmation you never know. Sometimes one like the Valentine’s Day Chocolates will stick around forever and sometimes like with the Halloween Candy from last year will be sold out in about a week or two. LE 2500 is a high amount so they should last a while, but it is also a seemingly popular design. I also don’t think they ever released the production number on one of these “event” vinyls. So I guess my advice would be if you don’t have to wait, and really want it, (if your an AP) just run in and grab it and leave. As far as where… at the entrance to the World Showcase they have some festival booths with merchandise… usually one of the first tents if you hang a right at the Showcase entrance.
