Animation 3

 12 figure blind box set

Updated 04/18/13 Disney officially released a photo of the one and only variant in Animation 3. The Yellow version DOES NOT exist.

Updated 04/02/13 Vinylmation Kingdom has posted concept art of the variants and chaser from Animation 3. The variants include a yellow Pascal and a red, mad Pascal.

Click below for the very obscure chaser and what it is:

Updated 03/14/13 Release dates for LE combo sets added.
Updated 02/27/13 Full set lineup is revealed.
Updated 02/26/13 April 12 release dated added. Thumper announced as combo topper.

Eeyore
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
Maria Clapsis

Wonderfully sad rainy day look. The only thing that could make this better is a detachable tail! No tail variant?

Basil of Baker Street
The Great Mouse Detective (1986)
Mike Sullivan

A great addition to the Animation lineup and a perfect facial expression.

Ludwig von Drake
An Adventure in Color (1961)
Thomas Scott

I’ve been waiting for this guy to show up! I am constantly amazed at how the artists can make different Vinylmation look like different periods of animation.

Stitch
Lilo and Stitch (2002)
Ron Cohee

This is why Ron Cohee is the best character artist Vinylmation has right now. He innovates. He is not afraid to put it all out there. Not only the best vinyl Stitch, but the only one that truly looks like him to date.

Ace of Clubs
Alice in Wonderland (1951)
Thomas Scott

Maybe a holdover from the Alice set? Wonderful artwork and the brush accessory works so very well.

Pascal
 Tangled (2010)
Monty Maldovan

Rapunzel never went on any adventure without her chameleon friend. This would make a great variant!

Panchito Pistoles
 Three Caballeros (1944)
Casey Jones

Jose last time… Donald in A4?

Mowgli
 The Jungle Book (1967)
Casey Jones

I like the continuation of characters from the same movie. We got Baloo last time. King Louis would be a great one for A4. Love the art on the ears!

Grumpy
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)
Ron Cohee

Dopey was in the last set… do we see trend here? What a great face!!!

Robin Hood
 Robin Hood (1973)
Adrianne Draude

Not much else to say but perfect representation.

Perdita
 101 Dalmatians (1961)
Caley Hicks

Now you can put this one next to your Park 2 Pongo Chaser.

Mystery Chaser
Stabbington Brothers
LE Combo
 Tangled (2010)
Release Date: May 24, 2013

I can’t enough Tangled and these faces are perfectly drawn on the canvas.

Tod and Copper
LE Combo
The Fox and the Hound (1981)
Release Date: May 10, 2013

Nice art style with these. Love the leaves in the ears.

  1. Is the fox and the hound gonna be a super hard to get combo cuz I love it! I just hope it don’t sell out super quick like the Carl and Ellie combo!

  2. Todd/Copper a LE combo?

Well crap. And here I thought it was going to be part of the blind box series. Yes, hoping it doesn’t sell out quickly.

  3. Grumpy Rocks!
Pascal – Does he have a tail?
    Panchito looks perfect!
Mowgli needs a stick of fire accessory
Robin Hood with his hat AND bow would be awesome!
Perdita will be stored WAY AWAY from P2 Pongo. We don’t need anymore puppies. Oh! Oh! How about a Jr series with 101 different puppy variations?? YES!!
Tod and Copper – Great combo. Should be enough to go around unless they go below LE1000. Fox and Hound isn’t as popular as UP with the younger generation.

  4. They need to make pascal have color change paint for his body… I remember some of my old matchbox cars that would change in the sun or with temperature. That would be awesome if you could hold him and have him change from green to maybe purple!!!!!!!!!

  5. wow. it’s been a bit since i’ve been excited about a set. score! it does my heart good to see the Great Mouse Detective and Robin Hood… two amazing movies of my childhood.

  6. I could not be more excited about this series. I literally just watched The Great Mouse Detective this afternoon and was thinking maybe I should try to make a custom Basil. He’s wonderful! I’m also extremely excited for Ludvig Von Drake, he’s one of my favorite characters from Disney. I’m thrilled to see the Ace of Clubs, I really would love for there to be an AIW2 line, but I’ll take the pieces here and there that I can get. I love them all 100% honestly, guess I’ll be shelling out for a whole case.

  7. Eeeekk was so happy to see the rest relased…I couldnt be happier with the results! To like 5 out of the 11 released…thats a pretty big amount for me. I cannot believe there is another stitch…eeee!! Yay!!! :D :D And a Eeyore..yes! I am so excited to see the AIW cards…it will go so perfect for my AIW’s..so happy to see something that they’ve havent done for the movie though! I thinking that could def. have variants..haha hope not just for my wallets sake..it would be hard to not have them. So those on top of Pascal and Grumpy…cant wait!!! <3 <3 Excited to see the chaser still..although another I dont want to like just to save my wallet..haha but still excited…along with axious to see the 9"s. Still cant decide if i'll add the Tangled boys to my Tangled collection…but Fox&Hound are a must. A little disapointed with Thumper..was really excited for him..and he looks like him in all..but ah..think i'll pass :/
    but overall very happy!! :)

  8. This is the only upcoming set looking forward to! I’ve promised to not buy any more vinyls until this comes out. At first I was only excited about robin hood and poncheito but now I get bazil and loud wick!!! Even though I HATE stitch, if I get this one he will stay in my collection.

  9. Overall, I like this set alot! Great characters…done well. Not many sets are strong from one thru 13 (topper). Love the color, detail and assortment. Cannot wait to see the chaser. The only improvement that I can see Disney could do is to add a cottontail to Thumper, a tail to Eeyore, and a 3D hat for Basil and Grumpy. The gnome hat would be a better representation than one that is painted on. These are just minor additions, so they don’t detract from the overall set. Variants? Stay tuned.

I give this set a 4 out of 5 Mickey score!!

  10. Love the Nessie chaser idea! Great choice and great execution.

Wonder if the Pascal variants will be equally distributed or if one or both will be more limited like P6 Signs, U6 Texts, etc.

  11. LOVE LOVE LOVE this entire set. I love the Nessie chaser. I can’t wait to buy a case so I can give my mother my extra Eeyore. Im super excited about A3, the Series, the combo sets, the combo topper. Disney did good with this one.

  12. I have a question about this set. Anyone hear of a stitch variant?????? A stitch with no arm coming out on the front????
