The very first step in remodeling the hub in front of Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom is draining the moat…
Interestingly enough, some sections of the drained moat still have the remnants of track from the Plaza Swan Boats, an attraction that closed in the early 1980’s. As you can see in the video, the former loading dock for that attraction is already behind walls and should be demolished shortly.
The hub remodeling is slated to be finished in early 2014.
Thanks to John Corigliano for the video.

What are they going to do there?
You spelled “Preparation” incorrectly. Might want to fix the spelling error so it doesn’t look amateurish.
Gotta love people insecure enough to spend their time on the net criticizing people for typos.
Gotta love people insecure enough to spend their time on the net criticizing people for helping others make an article more professional and correct so they can continue to be seen as a premier writter and author of amazing articles.
Can you define “writter?”
Man, that is downright surrealistic! Been going there since I was a kid back in the 70’s, and never saw anything quite like it.
I know realistically it won’t affect a person’s trip at all but I’m just wondering how much construction will be around the hub area this year. We won’t be coming back until 2016 so I hope its not too much.
Wow, that looks awful!
That looks terrible, how much other construction is happening right now?mwe arrive in 12 days.
That was the pointe…
anything to help getting through this much too crowded area is appreciated!!
I’m so excited to see what plans they have for the hub, hopefully it addresses the difficulty of making traffic flow easier.
